Why should Freedly forum points get deducted?

In a recent comment, I said:
"Bad answers are much more likely to get points deductions than bad questions."

I will write a quick guideline here prior to updating the full forum guidelines.

Please add your comments and if you think of other valid reasons for deducting points, please add your views as answers.

Points get deducted when experts vote down a question or an answer. They should add a comment explaining why the down vote has been applied.

It is rare to down vote a question. A Freedly mantra is that the only bad question is the one you do not ask. You are free to ask any question you like, as long as it does not break the respect principles in the forum guidelines. That usually means someone is trying to promote themselves outside of the Freedly rewards scheme.

Answers are only allowed by people who have earned enough points asking questions and giving votes. I am improving the guidelines for how to answer questions, and if these are broken, then the answer will be voted down.

Bad answers will also get voted down for the same reason as bad questions. If the answer is self-serving, or otherwise disrespectful, then it will be voted down.

Could this put some people off from coming on freedly. They could have asked some really good questions on this forum and they start closely building up there points. Then they come up with a question that isn't like by some of the "experts" all there hard work will be for nothing.
