I have a Friend Next week that has got his DLA hearing (incapacity Benifit) hearing next week and he is worried that he is going to have it taken away from him.
He has Arthritusus in his hands and knees which makes him unable to walk, drive or write, which in turns makes him unable to go to work. Can you suggest a way of helping him out of how he can convince them to keep him on the Benifit?
P.S He has been out of work for 10 years and has been claming it for 9 years after he was able to live of money that he had saved when working. He is in a desprate situation please help??

The main part of Freedly is to provide financial freedom.
Along the way, I have found that many things stop people achieving this because health issues severely restrict the ability to earn money.
So the first big question is, will your friend come here directly to work round the health issues to find financial freedom, or will you have to do all the work?
If it is the first option, then we need to be very clear about where we start the project. I.e., your friend has to decide if he wants Freedly to help overcome health problems, or help earn money. Both are achievable, but in that case, we need your friend to keep questions in this health forum about health. Then ask questions about earning money in the financial forum. Why? Because if we lump too many problems together, they become too big to solve. Tackle the biggest problem first, then the next biggest, etc.
If it is the second option, then we do not need to continue here in the health forum. You can start a project that is specifically aimed at raising money to support your friend. This is in the true spirit of Freedly, where, once we have satisfied our own needs, we can use the skills we have learned to help others. Raising funds for good causes is great, but helping a personal friend, in my view, is even better.
You could even combine the two, and create a website to support other arthritis sufferers. With your friends input, you will have access to endless personal experiences and opinions. You can build expertise in creating websites here at Freedly, combine that with your friends expert knowledge of suffering from the disease. You can create a website that helps your friend find financial freedom, and helps him, and thousands of others, find health freedom.
Please note that this question and answer combines several points. If you want to discuss the general issue of combining health freedom and financial freedom, then this is probably the best place for it. However, if you want to explore specifics about some of my suggestions in this answer, it is probably better to ask a related question, with more individual details about the specifics of your situation.

Thank you for this it was great help to us.
His hearing went well and is allowed to keep the benefit going for another 2 years. Although he now only gets $50 a week from it when previously he got $65 a week. I have spoken to him about doing a website for him and he has agreed to do it so we will be coming on here in the future for some advice on ho to run a website.
