About Freedom With Freedly
How can you find freedom with Freedly?
Freedom from what?
FDR’s four freedoms are:
- Freedom of speech and expression (Communicate)
- Freedom to worship (Spirit)
- Freedom from economic want (Money)
- Freedom from fear (Security)
Though these describe political freedoms in a democracy, I am concerned with Internet freedoms applied to your enjoyment of, and contribution to, online activities. At Freedly, we may discuss these basic freedoms, refine them in the context of a different environment, and extend them if necessary. These objectives are special, and deserve consideration, but many of us prefer practical advice over theoretical goals.
FDR also describes principles that support the four freedoms:
- Equality of opportunity
- Jobs for those who can work
- No special privileges for the few
- Civil liberties for all
- Enjoyment of fruits of scientific progress
- Better pensions and unemployment insurance
- Better medical care
- Better employment opportunities
These principles provide firmer ground for defining the purpose of Freedly.
In the widest sense, Freedly is a collection of websites that provide opportunities to it’s members – a form of virtual city. The binding principles are developed here, as are the methods and procedures that we adopt to build the websites.
Purpose of Freedom With Freedly
This website exists to encourage and involve people to create their own websites for pleasure, profit, or anything else that improves their personal freedom.
Though the primary goal is financial freedom, members will also seek to define the freedoms that are important to the community, and develop processes that will support and enable those freedoms.
This website is in the early development phase. For a little more clarification about purpose and direction. please see my hastily assembled My Freedom article. More importantly, build your own definition of freedom through the Freedom Definition Pathway.
